Privacy Policy

Summary (the TL;DR)

  • We collect what we need to run your account: email, name, and what you do inside Clevly.
  • We don’t sell your data. Ever.
  • Interview transcripts and screen captures are processed by AI and discarded — we don’t keep them.
  • You can delete your account at any time and we’ll wipe your data.

What we collect

Account information

  • Email address (required to sign in)
  • Name (optional; you provide it)
  • A hashed password (if you use email + password sign-in)
  • OAuth profile info from Google (if you sign in with Google)

Usage and activity

  • The plan you’re on, your subscription status, and your billing cycle
  • Aggregate counts of AI answers requested and interview sessions started
  • Last-active timestamp for single-device session enforcement

Content processed (not stored)

When you use the desktop app, the audio you transcribe and the screenshots you capture are sent to AI providers (Anthropic for answers, Groq or OpenAI for transcription) for processing. We do not store this content on our servers after a response is returned.

Support tickets

If you contact support, we keep your messages and our replies so we can follow up.

Payment

Payments are processed by PayPal. We never see your card details — we only receive a subscription ID and status from PayPal.

How we use it

  • To provide the Service (run your account, deliver AI responses, bill you)
  • To enforce single-device sessions and detect abuse
  • To send transactional emails (subscription receipts, support replies, expiry warnings)
  • To improve the product (aggregate, anonymized analytics)

We will never use your transcripts, screenshots, or AI conversations to train third-party models. Our AI providers (Anthropic, Groq, OpenAI) commit to the same in their respective business APIs.

Who we share data with

We share the minimum necessary data with:

  • Anthropic / Groq / OpenAI — to generate AI responses
  • PayPal — to process subscriptions
  • Resend — to send transactional email
  • Vercel — to host the application

We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or hand it to any third party for their own marketing.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email us via the support page and we’ll act on the request within 30 days.

If you’re in the EU/UK, you also have rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Data retention

  • Account data: kept until you delete your account.
  • Subscription records: retained as long as required by tax law (typically 7 years).
  • Transcripts and screenshots: not stored beyond the request lifecycle.
  • Support tickets: kept for up to 2 years for service-history reference.

Security

Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). API keys you provide are stored encrypted at rest. All traffic is TLS. We follow industry best practices but no system is bulletproof — if you find a security issue, please report it via support.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies for authentication (session cookies) and basic preferences. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies.

Children

Clevly is not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

Changes

We’ll update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
